Route 113 (two cities, two towns) Tourism Promotion Council

Route 113 connects Shiroishi city, Shichikashuku town, Miyagi prefecture with Nanyo city, Takahata town, Yamagata prefecture. This “Fairy Tale Road” preserves good old folklore and fairy tales. Take a walk on the Michinoku Fairy Tale Road and you will encounter nostalgic landscapes that remind people of the origin of Japanese people’s souls.

Shiroishi Castle

They rebuilt the castle of Katakura Kojuro, a vassal of the Date family. Visitors can try on samurai armor if they make a reservation.

The scene of a story of two daughters taking revenge upon the murderer of their father. There is a little temple called “Koshido” that enshrined the souls of the two sisters in Hachimaida.

Miyagi Zao Fox Village

Spashland Park

Nametsu Falls /

Furisode Jizo / Sekino Jizo

Tamanokihara Skunk Cabbage Colony

Along the road is a wetland where approximately a hundred thousand skunk cabbage flowers grow and bloom beautiful white flowers in the spring.

Roadside Station Shichikashuku
